We have enjoyed another wonderful visit, where we have been able to admire the natural beauty of the surroundings and also completely relax!

Carunchio + Casa Rosa in particular restores the soul – so thank you so much for all you have done for us.

That view from the window every morning when you wake up is just unbeatable and the friendliness + helpfulness of everyone in the village makes us want to come back again + again., and to share the secret of this wonderful place with others……..

Dear Clare and Paul

Once again we have had a fabulous time in Casa Rosa Carunchio, even more so because of the time of year.

Christmas and New Year were very special here, the weather has been fantastic.

Thanks for your hospitality and your company (hope you both enjoyed ours!)

The Log fire was an absolute bonus and it brought back many memories of days gone by for us both.

We have visited some lovely places and one again can’t wait to come back.

We’ll be seeing you’s in the summer, take care and all our love to you’s both and Giorgia.

Dear Clare, Paul and Giorgia

We have had a fantastic holiday!  Staying at Casa Rosa has been a complete joy.

Carunchio is a charming hamlet and Abruzzo is an absolutely breathtaking place.  We have driven round mountains that at times were quite scary however the views make you feel you are on ‘top of the world’.

We love this place so much we brought a property while we were here and intend to live the dream same as yourselves.  We will be back soon, hope you’ll have us and will soon be neighbours.  Hope we will keep in contact.  We love the way you renovated Casa Rosa and the facilities are second to none.  We will definitely pass on this peaceful retreat to friends and family and wish you the success you both deserve.

We have had a great time in Abruzzo.  Carunchio is a beautiful village.  We have been to other villages in other countries and wished  we could stay for a week or two.  Our wishes came true when we arrived in Carunchio.  Not only is Casa Rosa a gorgeous place to stay but your hospitality made it extra special.

We had a fantastic time and are sure we will be back to this Peaceful Retreat.

We will spread the word to friends and family.

With the exception of one rude Italian and a scorpion in the bathroom we had a most enjoyable time and relaxing break in Casa Rosa!  We appreciated your assistance with a late evening meal on arrival and some translating!  We found the house & village to be very pretty.  We particularly enjoyed our meal at Palazzo Tour D’eau and day out in Vasto & CAstiglione MM market.

Thank you Clare and Paul for your brilliant hospitality throughout the week.  We must say the name of your site Peaceful Retreats does describe the place; as our stay here was most tranquil.  For us there were lots of memories to take back with us eg; simple kindness shown to us by the villagers.  It was really moving to see such friendly community spirit from day to day.  Last but not least your place was immaculate as clean and tidy as any other resort or even more so.  Thanks again.

I have enjoyed being here and most of the things I have done over the week such as Football, go karting, arcade, the view and the shops we have been to.  I would like to come again sometime to italy and go to another part of it.

I have enjoyed being in Italy because I enjoyed looking at the views of the mountains.  The people were very friendly and it was very peaceful.  The activities were fun, and I especially liked the go-karting because it was something that I had never done before

Wow, what a magical place.  It’s great to explore and let the imagination run wild. In the space of a few hours today we have experienced bold weather,snow and hail, rain and shine.  Gotta love mother nature and she’s very present here.

Now that I'm back from holiday I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed my stay in Carunchio.

It certainly lived up to its "Peaceful Retreats" label. The village has a wonderful setting on top of the hill, with fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It portrayed a sense of true rural life in Italy, far removed from the normal package holiday.

The accommodation at Casa Rosa was first class with all mod cons, yet retaining lots of old world character.

There were lots of very pleasant walks to neighbouring villages with their interesting churches, cafes, bars and friendly people. The Adriatic towns at Vasto and San Salvo Marina were well worth the visit with their beautiful beaches and clear blue sea.

All in all a very relaxing holiday in a great location with a plentiful choice of good fresh food.

 Dear Clare and Paul

Thank you for allowing us to be your very first guests to stay at Casa Rosa. We didn’t know quite what to expect but we were delighted by what we found. The apartment has been beautifully finished and the modern kitchen and bathrooms are a joy to use. Your willingness to share information about the village, shopping hours, bus times, etc., has been much appreciated. And your Italian language lessons have been a wonderful bonus!

It has not only been fun staying in Carunchio for a month, it has been a privilege. To have been part of such a small and friendly community has been an unforgettable experience, especially during August when the village comes alive with its festivals and community events. We will miss the atmosphere, the people, the peace and the sunshine, but most of all we’ll miss the magnificent picture-book views of woodlands, farms and hills that we wake up to each morning.
